I wrote this letter for people send to their Reps and Senators about the Constitutionality of EFM's
Letter to Congress
(date) (Inside Address) Dear Congressman/Senator name: Benton Harbor Michigan is made up of 92% African-Americans and is the first city in Michigan that our new Governor Rick Snyder has targeted for takeover by an “Emergency Financial Manager”. Ben...ton Harbor is predominantly African American, as is the City of Detroit. In fact, as I look at the communities Snyder has targeted, there is an alarming number of communities with large African-American populations. Joseph L. Harris, EFM for Benton Harbor, Michigan issued “an order prohibiting all action by all city boards, commissions, authorities and other entities, except as authorized by the emergency manager.”(Not in my America!) What is our state becoming when un-elected business people can seize control of an entire city? I am concerned about the constitutionality of this EFM who is a de facto dictator and has, in effect, nullified the votes of Michigan citizens and shoved aside duly elected city officials. This kind of thing should not be allowed to happen in the United States, it's a step backwards from democracy and a move towards a form of government ruled by appointed dictators (EFM) who answer to an emperor (governor)! I believe this type of law is in clear violation of several Michigan and U.S. constitutional articles and amendments, and is totally un-American. For example: “Article IV-The Citizens of each State shall be entitled to all Privileges and Immunities of Citizens in the several States.” “Amendment-XV-The right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of race, color, or previous condition of servitude.” (Doesn't the EFM nullify peoples’votes?) And, especially citizens of the U.S. first and foremost: “XIV Amendment-Section 1. All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.” There are many other articles and amendments that can be used to argue the unconstitutionality of the EFM Law in Michigan. I do not have the legal expertise to argue all of them, but I firmly believe that if the U.S. Congress with it's oversight authority has the right to subpoena State Legislators and the Governor of Michigan and hold them accountable to the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights. Property has been seized in Benton Harbor and will be disposed of at the whim of the new EFM and Governor Snyder without the consent of the voters! This situation must be corrected. Thank you. WAUKESHA--On Friday, day three of the statewide recount of the Supreme Court race, the Kloppenburg recall effort called in their attorney, Michael Maistelman, to monitor the recount in Waukesha County.
Earlier Friday a clerk discovered that one of the bags full of ballots from the Town of Delafield was not properly sealed. The Kloppenburg campaign said that means there was the possibility that people could have had access to the bag of ballots. On Thursday, a different bag containing hundreds of ballots wasn't recorded on the poll inspector's log. That bag was also from the Town of Delafield.
Despite that, poll officials promise the numbers all added up to those obtained on election night. Still, the Kloppenburg campaign sent Maistelman to oversee the recount."Full Article | WTMJ | Local News

Grocers group warns members of product defacement

WISCONSIN - A Wisconsin grocers group says political anger could be hitting local shelves.
The Wisconsin Grocers Association told its members, opponents of Governor Scott Walker are planning to deface store products on Sunday.
It says they may be slapping stickers on specific grocery items. The group believes it's an expansion of an ongoing push for consumers to boycott companies that have donated to the governor's campaign.
"If somebody goes in and defaces property, putting a sticker on it, graffiti, whatever it is, they're breaking the law," Association President Brandon Scholz said. "We wanted our members to be aware of it, in case something happened in their store."
He says AngelSoft toilet paper, Sargento Cheese, Johnsonville brats and Coors beer are among the targeted products. See Full Article Here

"On May 1, left-wing vigilantes will target companies across the country that have committed a mortal sin: sending donations to GOP Gov. Scott Walker of Wisconsin. Rest assured, such intolerable acts of political free speech will not go unpunished by tolerant Big Labor activists. They're calling for both a national boycott of Walker's corporate donors and a coordinated sticker vandalism campaign on GOP-tainted products.
The Wisconsin Grocers Association is bracing for the anti-Walker witch hunt. Anonymous operatives have circulated sabotage stickers on the Internet and around Wisconsin that single out Angel Soft tissue paper ("Wiping your (expletive) on Wisconsin workers"), Johnsonville Sausage ("These Brats Bust Unions") and Coors ("Labor Rights Flow Away Like A Mountain Stream"). Earlier this week, a "Stick It To Walker" website boasted photos of vandalized Angel Soft tissue packages at a Super Foodtown grocery store in Brooklyn, N.Y.
This destruction of private property is illegal. Not that it matters to anti-Walker protest mobsters, who trampled Wisconsin's Capitol at an estimated $5 million in security, repair and cleaning costs to taxpayers. According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, "The identity of the backers of the sticker effort is unknown, although many assume it is being orchestrated by public employee unions. This latest effort follows boycotts organized by members of the Wisconsin State Employees Union AFSCME 24."Full Article Here

While testifying recently before Congress, Gov. Walker finally admitted that destroying unions hadn't saved Wisconsin any money. And giving $117 million in tax breaks to large corporations certainly doesn't save any money. The Bush administration tax cuts that gave billions to the rich are still in effect. This takes money away from the middle class, which needs it to save their homes and support families.

As proposed state budget cuts loom over public education in Michigan, some teachers unions are preparing for a fight.
“You’re on the record vehemently opposing Gov. Rick Snyder’s proposed budget, which calls for significant cuts to public education funding. If you were governor, what would you have budgeted for education?
A: I wonder if the people who voted Snyder in would say they voted him in to manufacture this (funding) crisis. If I were governor, I wouldn’t have taken $900 million from the School Aid Fund and transferred it to higher education. I wouldn’t have manufactured this funding crisis.

They have not paid back any of this taxpayer money, forcing a deal to sell out to a Canadien bank. When that deal closes in July, the bank will move its headquarters out of Milwaukee to Chicago, potentially costing our city hundreds of jobs.

After Much Deception and disappointment from the Wisconsin 2012 Elections, Scott Walker Won His Seat as Governor of Wisconsin in 2010, with his term Starting on January 1st,2011.
Already, Many people are saying that the is the most controversial Governor in Wisconsin History, and has Claimed the title as the Worst, all before Being Sworn in.
After Lying about reallocating the $810 million dollars we lost for the train, Potential "threats" of gouging state workers for a ton of money to make up for the deficient and overall Stupidity of his actions, people are already ready to call it quits on this guy.
Unfortunately, Law won't allow us to give this guy the boot instantly. We have to wait for at least one year into his term before anything can be done. Once January 1st, 2012 hits, People are eligible to file a recall petition with the state, and then have 60 days to obtain enough signatures to begin the re-election. Only then will we have a chance to get rid of the abomination that is Scott Walker
The democratic vote received 1,005,159 for Tom Barrett and lost. Can We get at least 53.7% of you to sign this come January 1st,2012? That seems Highly Attainable, Right?

The Shock Doctrine: The Rise of Disaster Capitalism is a 2007 book by Canadian author Naomi Klein, and is the basis of a 2009 documentary by the same name.
The book argues that the free market policies of Nobel Laureate Milton Friedman have risen to prominence in some countries because they were pushed through while the citizens were reacting to disasters or upheavals. It is implied that some man-made crises, such as the Falklands war, may have been created with the intention of being able to push through these unpopular reforms in their wake.

Andrew Welhouse, a spokesman for Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald, R-Juneau, said Thursday that while the "preferred avenue" for implementing the collective bargaining bill is still the state courts, there is a "possibility" the bill will be inserted into the 2011-2013 state budget.
"There is a possibility, and it has been informally discussed among Republican leadership, including the Joint Finance Committee co-chairs, that if the matter can't be fully decided on by the Supreme Court, then it will be inserted into the full budget," Welhouse told The Capital Times."

Emergency Manager Harris claims Benton Harbor supports him | Michigan Messenger
Benton Harbor Emergency Manager Joe Harris said last night that 90 percent of the local citizens believe that he is the “angel of common sense” though he acknowledged that no poll has been taken.
Earlier this month Harris used new powers granted under Public Act 4 — the Emergency Manager law — to remove all decision making power from Benton Harbor’s elected officials.
“They were effectively … fired by the state legislature,” Harris told
Fox 2 News. “… Public Act 4 of 2011 stripped all local government legislators and the mayors and the city officials of the power that they once had. The order that I issued a couple weeks ago simply reiterated the fact that these individuals no longer had the authority that they once had.”
Harris, who formerly served as Chief Financial Officer and as Auditor General for the city of Detroit, said that it is conceivable that he will terminate contracts for public workers in Benton Harbor and he said that Mayor Bing will not be able to address Detroit’s financial problems without authority to change the terms of collective bargaining agreements."View Video Here

"Critics say the new powers, granted by the state’s new Republican leadership, are Michigan’s way to shrink benefits for public workers and undermine the strength of labor unions, just as officials have tried in Indiana, Ohio and Wisconsin.
Michigan’s state-appointed emergency managers do have authority to set aside union contracts, giving the state, in the eyes of some, the opportunity to crush any local union deals in the name of budget repair.
