On Wednesday night the Wisconsin State Assembly voted to approve legislative and congressional redistricting maps that Representative Fred Kessler called, “the most vicious abuse of partisan power that I have ever seen in the Wisconsin Legislature, and I’ve been here since 1961.” They also passed another bill that alters the process and timeline for local jurisdictions to make their redistricting conform to state maps, and to restrict the venues and process for any challenges to the plans." During the actual session not one GOP member spoke. But when it was all over they all had plenty of people to thank during adjournment comments. This one should really be titled Robin Vos is a serious dick but we all knew that already.

The Assembly passed the Republican-drawn redistricting plan Tuesday on a 57-40 vote. The proposal, which passed the Senate on Tuesday along party lines, now heads to Gov. Scott Walker. No Republicans addressed the legislation on the floor. “Democracy is literally on life support in Wisconsin, and you want to give it a lethal injection,” said Rep. Mark Pocan, D-Madison.

The filing also includes the revealing deposition of the late Michael Connell. Connell served as the IT guru for the Bush family and Karl Rove. Connell ran the private IT firm GovTech that created the controversial system that transferred Ohio's vote count late on election night 2004 to a partisan Republican server site in Chattanooga, Tennessee owned by SmarTech. That is when the vote shift happened, not predicted by the exit polls, that led to Bush's unexpected victory. Connell died a month and a half after giving this deposition in a suspicious small plane crash.

Election to recall Walker may take place on the same day as the WI GOP 2012 presidential primary | Defend Wisconsin
Democrats in Wisconsin worry that Republicans will engineer a situation in which the election to recall Governor Scott Walker takes place on the same day as the Wisconsin GOP 2012 presidential primary, when GOP turnout is at a maximum.
That is why Wisconsin Democrats want to ensure maximum turnout among Dems in the state by setting the recall election on the same day as the November Presidential election in 2012.

Tell your legislators to stop the power grab and support a bi-partisan approach to redistricting- redraw the legislative maps in a fair and balanced way.
Have you signed our petition? Redistricting will be voted on in an extraordinary session by mid-week. Stand up for a fair and balanced approach to democracy instead of a blatant power grab scheme.
