The Joint Finance Committee adopted the governor’s recommendation to transfer administrative functions of the Secretary of State’s office to the DOA and DFI.

Sen. Lena Taylor, D-Milwaukee, said lawmakers were overstepping their authority by taking away duties from a constitutionally-elected officer.
