John Nichols: Effort to thwart voter suppression necessary and appropriate

John Nichols gives a little history lesson on voter rights in Wisconsin. Expanding access used to be a bipartisan issue in this state, so the fact that the Legislature passed the voter ID bill today shows how much our GOP legislators are being corralled by national conservative groups.
The voter ID bill is not a Wisconsin idea. It is an imported proposal, designed by national strategists on the right — and their corporate allies — as part of a broad strategy to undo the political progress of the past century. Full Article Here
