Wisconsin court race won't be certified without vote probe | Reuters

Wisconsin court race won't be certified without vote probe | Reuters

"The agency overseeing Wisconsin elections will not certify results of Tuesday's state Supreme Court race until it concludes a probe into how a county clerk misplaced and then found some 14,000 votes that upended the contest.

Michael Haas, Government Accountability Board staff attorney, told Reuters on Friday the watchdog agency was looking into vote tabulation errors in Republican-leaning Waukesha County which gave the conservative incumbent a net gain of more than 7,000 votes -- a lead his union-backed challenger seems unlikely to surmount."

YouTube - HUMAN ERROR OR FOUL PLAY IN WISCONSIN RACE ?

Just yesterday JoAnne Kloppenburg was projected the winner by the AP, by 200 votes against Justice David Prosser, in what was seen as proxy race . That is until a County Clerk named Kathy Nickolaus managed to misplace a whole town's votes . And this town happened to be in a largely Republican district . This is unprecedented in this town and Kathy Nickolaus has been the subject of many complaints from other Waukesha officials on how she handles elections and keeps public information to herself outside the official county system where others can verify it . In addition, other suspicious questions are raised. (1) The suspicions due to the fact that the " discovery " not only swung the election but also put the race just barely past the amount needed to trigger a state-financed recount . (2) Nickolaus waited 24 hours to report the discovery . This makes it harder it harder to challenge and audit the integrity of the vote . (3) The partisan political history of Nickolaus and complaints . (4) Posser is a former boss of Nickolaus . Although this could just be in fact human error, there are far to many suspicious coincidences for there not to be an investigation . The group Citizen Action of Wisconsin is calling for an immediate federal investigation and impoundment of all computer equipment, ballots, and other relevant evidence needed to verify a fair vote count in Waukesha County. Kloppenburg campaign manager Melissa Mulliken, has started the process hiring the national law firm Perkins Coie -- which has an office in Madison, Wis. For further information use link below .

Kloppenburg's campaign is working with Marc Elias, an attorney with Perkins Coie, a Washington D.C.-based firm with an office in downtown Madison. Elias is the same attorney who represented Democratic challenger Al Franken in his eight-month epic recount battle with incumbent Republican Norm Coleman. Franken eventually prevailed, winning his U.S. Senate seat by 312 votes.

With a recount of the tight Supreme Court race likely, the Prosser and Kloppenburg campaigns have hired legal counsel.

Officials dispute reliability of Waukesha County clerk's election data system - JSOnline

"Waukesha — Waukesha County Clerk Kathy Nickolaus' decision to go it alone in how she collects and maintains election results has some county officials raising a red flag about the integrity of the system.

Nickolaus said she decided to take the election data collection and storage system off the county's computer network - and keep it on stand-alone personal computers accessible only in her office - for security reasons.

"What it gave me was good security of the elections from start to finish, without the ability of someone unauthorized to be involved," she said."Full Article Here - JSOnline

Corporate America's State Level Bloodless Coup Against Democracy

Corporate America's State Level Bloodless Coup Against Democracy

"If Republicans like Walker and Snyder are allowed to continue their Nazi tactics by disregarding the will of the voters and the courts, America will become a dictatorship. For two years Republicans in Congress worked tirelessly to circumvent the law and now that they have control of the House, they are snubbing their noses at the voters. They lied to get elected by promising to create jobs, but instead have worked to cut services and jobs as well as repeal laws passed in the last Congress. Americans appear to finally see Republicans for what they really are; power-hungry corporatists who hate the American people and the law. If they are allowed to continue, American democracy will be finished and in its place will be a dictatorship run by corporations and religious leaders who, like Republicans, have no regard for the law or the will of the people. Americans united to fight the Nazi threat in World War II, now they must unite to fight the Republican Nazi threat in America and elect leaders who do not defy the law."Full Article Here

OLYMPIA — A rally to urge state lawmakers to close corporate tax loopholes, rather than cut back health care, social services and education, started with hundreds of protesters, then turned into a sleepover for about six dozen in the state Capitol Wednesday night.

"Our goal today was to disrupt business as usual because obviously we've marched and rallied, and we're still seeing more and more cuts," said Fatima Morales, a spokeswoman for the Washington Community Action Network, which helped bring together more than three dozen advocacy groups."
