Good day in Benton Harbor. Hundreds showed up to protest the governor's appearance. The rest of the parade was cool too; Benton Harbor drill team is top notch!

US Uncut Chicago is a local organizing entity for actions and events in the Chicago area, slated in conjunction with other US Uncut groups across the globe.
US Uncut is a "horizontal" movement; actions and events are also planned spontaneously and on our own. Not only are we going to out the large and most egregious tax dodgers, but plan on also taking on the dodgers who turn a profit in our city, county and state, while avoiding taxes on those levels.

This is some of the groundwork behind what is now happening to Benton Harbor,- good books to read on this issue, and the topic of revanchist gentrification, are Sudhir Venkatesh's Gang Leader for a Day, and Mary Pattillo's Black on the Block. What happened in Chicago - via city-wide plan to reform public housing, that was actually intended to take away lakefront land and homes from the poor and the black so that the rich and the white could have access to that prime real estate, - is exactly what the GOP plans for Benton Harbor, and whatever lake front town is next, - they want the water, they want it all.
