Attempt to Muzzle the Media Part of Drive Toward Fascism
A thousand mile journey starts with (and develops with) a thirty-inch step. This often quoted adage certainly applies to the development of the political features of fascism in the United States. We took another step with the firing of Vivian Schiller, CEO and President of National Public Radio, because an NPR fundraiser make remarks attacking the conservatives. Conservatives in Congress then launched a new campaign to stop federal funding of NPR. The media community was frighteningly quiet with each media organization thinking they may be next.
