Apparently WISGOP convention attendees prefer someone named "Ted Kanavas" over the increasingly unpopular Washington lobbyist Tommy G. Thompson.

Supporters say it will bring integrity to the voting process, while opponents fear it will disenfranchise voters. But there's more to AB7 than meets the eye.

This is a demonstration of a proper election system. Mandatory paper ballots ( no VVPAT's ) - Open source software ( no " corporate owned " software ) - This activist effort has been embraced by the California State Democratic Party Platform.. but has not been implemented.. mainly due to Microsoft lobbyist control over the political process..

Open Voting Consortium (OVC) provided a voting system for the LinuxWorld conference at Moscone Center in San Francisco, Aug 5-7. The system is called an Electronic Ballot Printer, which prints voters' choices in the voting booth.YouTube - OVC at LinuxWorld 2008
Comments:
Dan Schulte: that sounds like a step or two in the right direction. Paper ballots should be required, enabling a hand recount w no bull ----.
Brent Turner: @ Dan- Yes- these two steps change the game.. Once you can see the code- and have mandatory paper ballots- the risk / reward ratio for manipulation changes dramatically- and an appropriate deterrent level is created.. You still have to have surrounding security in place- but at least you have proper foundation..

Tale of the Tapes: Wisconsin's 'Dog-and-Pony Show' Faith-Based Supreme Court Election 'Recount'
"On Friday of last week, Barbara With, one of Kloppenburg's volunteer observers at the "recount" in Waukesha County, was startled to watch poll tapes being counted --- in this case, so-called "Voter Verified Paper Audit Trails" (VVPATs) printed out by Sequoia AVC Edge touch-screen machines from the City of Pewaukee --- even though the dates on them read March 30, 2011, a full seven days prior to the April 5th election." Note on wrapping up the week:
...We need to grow this movement and the Facebook/social media way is by Sharing.... If any of you have ideas or suggestions as to how to help inform others please let us know...It is critical that we expand our informed citizen base. Talk with people, wear a political button, put a bumper sticker on your car, and a sign in a window in your house.. Let others know what FB pages you are using to keep yourself informed. Thanks to all for a great week, Bev
How do we change the minds of billions?
"In the end the answer is far simpler then you would have thought. You can only change the minds of others by changing your own first. By making small, subtle changes in your own life you can start to effect a larger change. Stop shopping at certain stores, stop using certain banks, start eating consciously, start exercising, pick up the phone and join a local political rally and most importantly, by not choosing fear. Everyone has their own way that they resonate with. The point is we have to be the change in the world we want to see."
