THIS PAGE IS STILL UNDERCONSTRUCTION | but please take a look at it
Here in Wisconsin we are well into our third month of Protesting with no end in sight. Other states are facing equally upsetting battles. The work is consuming, energizing and tiring. We need everyone's help. This movement is spreading. Many of the political changes are creating fear and outrage and many people are asking what they can do to help stop the opponents. This is a call to action and is part of the waking up for many of us who have been part of the great political "sleeping giant". While I accept this notion, I think there are other ways to better understand the current situation and to stop blaming members of the extremely hard working majority of Americans.
I will be developing this page and posting it on occasion as a response to posts where people seem to want to further develop their "citizen-activist-practice".
Please feel free to use/spread all of this information. It is being developed to help this protest movement and is for the benefit of all.

Ways everyone can help.
1. Share this information, using electronic media, email, facebook, twitter,
2. Talk to friends, family, co-workers about what you are learning and how you feel about what is happening. Let them know that you concerned, and what steps you are taking and how it feels to become more vocal.
3. Add comments to the newspaper article...comments will bring the article to the attention of the writer and paper and in some cases place the article in a more prominent position on the electronic page. Any kind of activity will alert the publication and the writers to an interest in this topic and will generate more coverage in the future.
4.Make phone calls. Call your elected officials when you see that they are doing something that you support and something that you are opposed to. Enter the numbers in your phone and have the numbers easily available. A quick call will let them know that you are paying attention.. and that is critically important step. These people are our elected officials and need real feedback to best do their jobs.

Online Dish: Tea Party Activist Refuses to Resign After Sending Racist Email About President Obama - KTVI
Online Dish: Tea Party Activist Refuses to Resign After Sending Racist Email About President Obama - KTVI
Maggie Flecknoe | KIAH | April 18, 2011
"The Republican Party of Orange County Chairman Scott Baugh is calling to launch an ethics investigation about the incident, and that he is calling for her resignation. Baugh said, "It's just highly inappropriate, it's a despicable message, it drips with racism and I think she should step down from the committee.
Davenport went on to say that she will not step down but she apologizes to anyone who may have been offended. She insists that "in no way did I even consider the fact he's half black when I sent out the email" and decries the "double standard" that applies to President Barack Obama.
The former chairman of the California Republican Party Michael Schroeder says that this email is Davenport's third strike. He too is calling for her resignation, saying this is her third strike. He says that she has defended the racist actions of two fellow Orange County conservatives on two occasions."

When You Call You Public Official
Michigan Stands for Democracy
"Respect the office of the public servant. It is a sacred duty — whether or not the person currently occupying the office is fully cognizant of its real obligations or not. At any rate, the office-holder works for you. His job is to represent your concerns and your interests to the legislature in Lansing, not to PR the interests or the wildest dreams and wish-lists of some corporation in Wichita or some crypto-lobby in Washington to you.
You are calling your employee to account for the quality of his job performance, including how and where he spent his time while supposed to be working on your clock and payroll. That is all you are doing — and that is your right.
So be a nice boss, but be a firm boss, and don't forget for a moment who is boss."
