There is a sense among the activists on the ground that this corporate park-turned activist camp site could become a symbol and gathering place for resistance against an unfair economy.
"Activists have been camped in Zuccotti Park, a privately owned park formerly know as Liberty Park Plaza. They've assembled makeshift shelters and created a network for providing communication, shelter and provisions for the campers. While numbers have swelled to over 5,000 over the weekend, on Tuesday afternoon about 250 people attended the “General Assembly,” a democratically structured meeting used by the occupation for collective decision-making.
