What Is Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker Not Telling Us About Financial Stress Test Legislation? - Rick Ungar - The Policy Page - Forbes

What Is Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker Not Telling Us About Financial Stress Test Legislation? - Rick Ungar - The Policy Page - Forbes
“Walker went on to very clearly state that nobody on his staff nor in his administration was involved in planning any legislation that would mimic the Michigan law or do anything suggested in my post…This led me to consider that while Walker may have been technically correct in the wording of his denial – because there may or may not be a member of the Governor’s staff or administration who is dealing with these issues – that involvement could be happening somewhere else, such as in the legislative branch or in the private sector...While the GMC will tell us that it is as they say it is, I find the explanation painfully difficult to believe. I suspect that any rationally inquisitive individual with an interest in the topic might also come to the conclusion that there is more to this than what is being explained."READ MORE HERE | Rick Ungar | The Policy Page | Forbes

Please note that all information contained on this page is sourced from different entities and locations online. Michigan Rally Information cannot and will not accept any responsibility for the accuracy of the information or any occurrences of loss or damage while attending these events.
I do not belong to any organization.
I am just a citizen who is trying to get the word out and give the people of Michigan a chance to let their voices be heard. The rallies, protests, meetings, etc that I list I am not personally organizing. I am merely spreading the word about opportunities to let your voice be heard.
Figured there needed to be a central place for people to connect with others and find out information about the various rallies being organized at the State Capitol and around Michigan. Also have noticed people looking for rides to Lansing. So this will be a place to post information. Feel free to post to the wall and/or the discussion section of the page. If you know of any upcoming rallies, meetings and protests please post it on the wall.
I also need all the help I can get. This is a grass roots movement by the people of Michigan. We all must do what we can to make a difference! So feel free to post any of my event pages, rally listings, etc on any appropriate websites, facebook pages, and tell everyone you know!

ACLU probes EM law’s origins
ACLU probes EM law’s origins
"Currently, there are state appointed emergency managers (formerly emergency financial managers) in three Michigan cities — Benton Harbor, Pontiac and Ecorse and in the Detroit Public School (DPS) district.
Because the new law is retroactive, these EMs can apply its sweeping draconian changes immediately.
The new legislation, signed by Gov. Rick Snyder March 16, gives broad, new powers to state-appointed emergency managers that include the ability to terminate union contracts and strip power from local elected officials."Full article here | ACLU probes EM law’s origins

Gov. Scott Walker Reportedly Planning Financial Martial Law In Wisconsin - Rick Ungar - The Policy Page - Forbes
Gov. Scott Walker Reportedly Planning Financial Martial Law In Wisconsin - Rick Ungar - The Policy Page - Forbes

"According to the reports, should a locality’s financial position come up short, the Walker legislation would empower the governor to insert a financial manager of his choosing into local government with the ability to cancel union contracts, push aside duly elected local government officials and school board members and take control of Wisconsin cities and towns whenever he sees fit to do so.
Following the lead of Michigan GOP Governor Rick Snyder, Walker is said to be preparing a plan that would allow him to force local governments to submit to a financial stress test with an eye towards permitting the governor to take over municipalities that fail to meet with Walker’s approval."
"Yes, this has really happened right here in the United States of America."
"Walker’s plans give further credence to the notion that the efforts of the GOP governors with Republican majorities in their state legislative bodies are part of a coordinated plan to enforce a right-wing agenda designed to not only destroy state, county and municipal employee unions, but to take control of local governments by replacing elected officials with appointees, both corporate and individual, of the state’s highest executive officer.
More on this as it becomes available."
