Senator Bernie Sanders Belongs on the Sunday Shows
"Senator Sanders is a bold voice, and one that's missing every Sunday. He's a passionate advocate for the middle class and yet his last morning show appearance came late last year ... As the same voices drone on, the Senator's absence means the political and media elites are overlooking the forces squeezing working and middle class Americans." – Robert Greenwald

Lets Get to Know Herman Cain a Little Better; His Ties to Koch Industries and ALEC

Lets Get to Know Herman Cain a Little Better; His Ties to Koch Industries and ALEC
"With the 2012 elections officially full steam ahead the main focus will be on the republican candidate field as they are the ones fighting for the nomination to run against President Obama. With the usual names being thrown around like Newt Gingrich, Sarah Palin, Michele Bachmann, and Rick Santorum it’s hard for anyone, especially independents to be excited about this crowd. Then Fox News has their first GOP “unofficial” candidate debate. With the obvious pre-prepped of Herman Cain and the bad acting of the focus group following the debate declaring him as the winner, it seems that this Atlanta Georgia based radio talk show host came out of nowhere and sky rocketed to become the favorite among the far right wing crowd. He is especially the new flavor of the month for the Tea Party."
Religious groups oppose Keystone XL pipeline | Michigan Messenger

Religious groups oppose Keystone XL pipeline | Michigan Messenger
"The Dominican Sisters of Grand Rapids have joined dozens of other religious organizations in writing to Sec. of State Hillary Clinton to express their opposition to the Keystone XL pipeline, which would carry tar sands crude oil from Alberta, Canada to the Gulf Coast of Texas.
Here is the full text of the letter:
Dear Secretary Clinton;
As faith-based organizations concerned for people and the environment in the United States and Canada, we respectfully request that you deny the presidential permit that TransCanada Corporation has applied for, in an effort to stop the construction of the Keystone Pipeline XL project.
The construction of such a pipeline from Alberta, Canada to Houston, TX would have devastating impacts on people in the area. The tar-sands oil under the Boreal Forest in Canada is some of the dirtiest fuel on the planet. Once extracted and burned, tar-sands oil produces high levels of sulfur oxide, nitrogen dioxide, and carbon monoxide. As such, the health problems to those who reside in the refining processing area would be tangible. Furthermore, the refinery sites of Houston and Port Arthur, TX are already failing the Clean Air Act standards; adding more sulfur, nitrogen oxide, and carbon monoxide to the air will only compound the already existing poor conditions and have adverse affects on the people in these cities, as well as the surrounding areas. A pipeline, such as this, cannot be in the national interest and, therefore, needs to be stopped." Full Letter here | Michigan Messenger
Scott Walker Tries To Cut Men Out Of Wisconsin Family Planning Program
"Wisconsin's Department of Health Services confirmed that it cannot remove men from Medicaid eligibility without applying for a waiver from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, which would then have to determine whether the state can continue to receive federal funding at all based on the new terms of its family planning program.
BadgerCare currently serves about 57,600 low-income Wisconsinites, according to Planned Parenthood, and the state's health department estimates that it prevented 11,064 unplanned pregnancies in 2008. Family planning advocates argue that, if patients did not have access to preventive care, Wisconsin would see an increase in unintended pregnancies, the spread of STDs and a rise in undetected and untreated cervical and breast cancer cases -- all of which would then cost the state millions of dollars in future medical costs.
But Pro-Life Wisconsin's Sande argues that BadgerCare services actually increase the rate of unintended pregnancies by encouraging teens to have sex.
"Medicaid is a state program providing free state-funded birth control and condoms to 15-, 16- and 17-year-olds, and that's a violation of parental rights," he said. "We oppose the BadgerCare program for that reason, and also because of the fact that government-funded birth control increases pregnancies and promotes promiscuity -- it has the opposite of its intended effect.""
Citizens United 2.0? | Common Dreams
"What Citizen’s United does not allow the corporation to do, however, is contribute money directly to candidates. That remained illegal—until, perhaps, now. Last week, in a decision that received scant media attention, a Reagan-appointed federal judge in Virginia ruled that campaign finance laws banning corporations from direct contributions to candidates are unconstitutional.
US District Judge James Cacheris extended the logic of Citizen’s United to reach his decision. "(F)or better or worse, Citizens United held that there is no distinction between an individual and a corporation with respect to political speech," he wrote in his 52-page opinion. "Thus, if an individual can make direct contributions within (the law's) limits, a corporation cannot be banned from doing the same thing."
The case at hand was not driven by canny operatives in an attempt to further loosen campaign finance laws. Cacheris was presiding over a case brought by the federal government against two former officials at the Galen Capital Group, who are charged with making direct, illegal corporate contributions to Hillary Clinton’s 2006 Senate campaign and 2008 presidential campaign. The two men had their employees make donations and then reimbursing them directly."

Radio Interview | The BRAD BLOG : Exclusive: My Live KPFK Interview with now-former WI Supreme Court Candidate JoAnne Kloppenburg

"Given the state media's shamefully bad coverage of the disastrous "recount", the interview may well be the only one, as short as it was, in which she was able to address accountability for the "cascade of widespread irregularities", as she described them during her concession speech, which plagued the state's certified results.
"How do you know," I asked her at one point during our conversation, "that, given the wild, widespread irregularities --- these wide open ballot bags, tamper-evident seals that were broken, serial numbers that were missing, scratched out, changed --- how do you know that those ballots that were counted during the recount process were actually the ballots that were cast by the voters on Election Day?"
Her disturbing but unavoidable answer: "At this point, we don't know. All we have to go on is the hand count, and the extent to which they're consistent with the tapes in the [voting] machines."

The BRAD BLOG : EXCLUSIVE: WI State Election Board Failed to Review Minutes from Waukesha County 'Recount' Before Certifying Supreme Court Election Results
So Kloppenburg dropped the fight. I understand. It's been a long awful slog- and giving up may preserve career, sanity, and bank account.
Unfortunately, everyone else across the nation in the same shoes has done the same so far… Christine Jennings, Gore, Kerry, so many others. It's a shame for the people of Wisconsin and the nation.
- Bill Bucolo This is a failure of courage which I lay not so much at the candidate, but at the feet of our law enforcement people regionally and national. They refuse to take on the people behind this attack on our nation… which is exactly what this systematic nation wide pattern of vote theft and silence reveals.Yesterday at 11:46am · · 1 personLoading...
- Bill BucoloIn Florida, For those who say they can't understand why Rick Scott was elected, I say don't be so sure he was.
Remember, we don't see the votes counted. I don't believe Scott won.
Keep in mind what just happened in Wisconsin with the Klo...ppenburg/Prosser race, what happened in Ohio with the Kerry/Bush race, what happened in Florida, San Diego, Virginia, etc.
The failures of courage to pursue appeals and recounts with accontability I lay at the feet of our law enforcement people, regionally and national. They refuse to take on the people behind this persistent attack on our nation… which is exactly what this systematic nation wide pattern of vote theft and silence reveals.
The brain/blood barrier between state and federal law is necessary, but it was breached to good cause in the 50's to allow Americans to vote. It's time the Feds stepped into this mess again for the same reasons. Now Americans are voting, but their votes are being lost, diluted by ballot stuffing, flipped, etc. The evidence is conclusive to those with honest eyes. We're reaching a tipping point, and it's time for people with more heft than the average bear to start pushing too.

Hand Counted Ballots
Sheila Parks http://www.handcountedpape
"We are a training and research center that provides on-site instruction and resources to state and local election officials, poll workers and interested voters on how to run secure hand-counted paper ballots elections and recounts. Hand-counted paper ballots elections are a solution to the fraud and error associated with the use of electronic voting machines (both touchscreens / DRE’s and optical scans) and the control of our elections by a privatized electronic voting machine industry."
Kloppenburg concedes Supreme Court election (AUDIO)
- Dianne Carry i am loving the sirens in the back ground. she has been saying what we are all learning - we have forgotten procedural steps to insure a safe legal election - people need training and dedication to the process. when people are too busy to get training sworn in - then you have errors - fraud - flipped votes and have lost the ability to have a fair election.
